This picture is done by stitching 5 photos together. I took the first one with my camera mounted on a tripod, and with a timer and a remote control. Actually, I took a few different pictures. After that, I ran back to my camera (still on the tripod), set the exposure and auto-focus to manual, then rotated the camera left and right to get the rest of the picture. When I got home, I used "Hugin" (a free software for Linux) to stitch them into a panorama. The only imperfection is that in the few minutes that has lapsed after I took the picture with myself in it, the lighting condition changed on the beach, so there is a strip of odd coloured sand around me. Otherwise, I am quite happy with how this turned out.
If you want to see this properly, maximize the browser window, and then click on the photo. To be honest, even on a cloudy day like this, the beach is just absolutely beautiful. The photo really doesn't do it justice. Also, what you don't see in the picture is the crisp scent of the ocean and clean air.
